Damien hirst

Damien Hirst's work is original and creepy.  The visual impact of his works, which includes many dead animals and human skulls, causes both scandals and admiration.

Damien Hirst (Bristol, 1965 - ...), studied Art and Design at the University of Leedsand Fine Arts in London, and  today is the richest artist in the UK thanks to works like human skull platinum and diamond entirely encrusted allegedly purchased by 74 million euros. This controversial artist can afford to increase his fortune even before entering the galleries or go through a dealer: His masterpieces  go directly from the morgue to the galleries.

Death is the central theme of his work, he is known for his Natural History series, in which dead animals are preserved, sometimes dissected in formaldehyde. One of his most famous and iconic is The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living. This is a 14-foot shark immersed in a long glass case with formaldehyde. Due to the decomposition of the shark, it was replaced with a new specimen in 2006.
